YouRban: EU-Projekt über Kreislaufwirtschaft

designaustria freut sich, seine Partnerschaft im Projekt YouRban von 2024 bis 2026 bekannt zu geben. Das Projekt ist Teil des renommierten Förderprogramms Horizon Europe der Europäischen Union.
Gemeinsam mit Politecnico Milano, Fibereuse Tech, SYXIS, Rivierasca, Origoni Steiner Architects und Studio Labaula wird designaustria weiterhin international zusammenarbeiten, um die Kreislaufwirtschaft durch kreatives Design voranzutreiben. Im Projekt wird gemeinsam ein nachhaltiges und integratives Ökosystem in städtischen Umgebungen für das Recycling von verstärkten Polymeren geschaffen. Die Pilotprojekte finden in Mailand, Wien und Barcelona statt, wo eine mobile Recyclinganlage vor Ort die Möglichkeit bietet, alte Kunststoffprodukte wie Sportausrüstung zu recyceln und in ein neue Objekte umzuwandeln.
Ganz im Sinn der Neuen Europäischen Bauhaus sollen die lokalen Gemeinschaften mit den Vorteilen der Kreislaufwirtschaft und der großen Vielfalt neuer nützlicher Objekte vertraut gemacht werden, die durch kreatives Design realisiert werden können.
YouRban soll zur Steigerung beitragen von
– Wiederverwendung von Verbundwerkstoffen
– Kundenakzeptanz für wiederaufbereitete Produkte
– Bewusstsein für die Bedeutung von Reprocessing
– Entwicklung zirkulärer Geschäftsmodelle für mehr Rentabilität von End-of-Life-Produkten.
Das Projekt läuft bis zum Sommer 2026 und umfasst offene Ausschreibungen (Open Calls) für Bewerbungen, um diese Technologie in Ihre eigene Nachbarschaft zu bringen.

designaustria is pleased to announce its partnership in the newly released project YouRban. The project is part of the prestigious funding programme Horizon Europe by the European Commission.
Together with Politecnico Milano, Fibereuse Tech, SYXIS, Rivierasca, Origoni Steiner Architects, and Studio Labaula designaustria will continue to collaborate internationally to boost circular economy by the means of creative design.
YouRban is about co-creating a sustainable and inclusive ecosystem in urban environments for the recycling of reinforced polymers on a road truck. The first two pilots take place in Barcelona and Milano where a mobile recycling plant on a truck will provide local citizens the chance to recycle old plastic products such as sports gear and transform it into a new recycled artistic handcraft. Following the New European Bauhaus values, the local communities shall be made familiar to the benefits of circular economy and the large variety of new useful objects that can be realised by the means of creative design.
YouRban will boost the

– customer acceptance for remanufactured products
– awareness of the importance to reprocessing
– development of circular business models for more profitability of end of life products.
