European Design Awards 2016 in Vienna: studio tour * conference * ceremony * party
The European Design Awards ceremony is an excellent way to meet the best of our continent’s creatives gathered up in one place. This years‘ ceremony will take place at MuTh Vienna on Saturday, 21 May. The ceremony is surrounded by outstanding events: the ED Awards master conference, 3 Design Tours hosted by designaustria, the after-show party.

The European Design Awards ceremony is dedicated to Europe’s design elite and it‘ projects. The best projects in more than 30 categories will be awarded and celebrated. The ceremony is accompanied by the ED Awards master conference: The conference first part on the topic of »MIGRATION. WHAT DESIGN(ERS) CAN DO?« with Michael Leube (A/E) and Erwin Bauer (A) as speakers is organised by designaustria – a BEDA European Centre of Competence within the framework of the European Design Business Dialogue. Together with the speakers of the conference second part Ermolaev Bureau (Russia), Wolff Olins (UK) and Fabrique (the Netherlands), an inspiring conference-afternoon is guaranteed.

Additionally the ED Awards in cooperation with the national partner designaustria offers three design tours in Vienna. The organisation of design tours is an excellent opportunity from people from all over Europe to get a first-hand experience of the local design scene. Four studios in the vicinity of each other are picked up and are invited to host visiting groups of international visitors, to exhibit their work, discuss their challenges, their solutions and their methodology, to interact and to exchange views and experiences.
