National Design Prize

Every two years, the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport honours three-dimensional design from Austria within the framework of a competition. This design showcase is organised by designaustria.

Three National Design Prizes are awarded in the following categories:
Consumer Goods, Capital Goods, and Interior

Moreover there are two special prizes:

‘Spaces & Environment’ for public spaces and public furniture, inner space and exhibition design.

‘DesignConcepts Awards’ are assigned to three innovative design solutions –projects and prototypes not yet marketed and characterised by a high degree of relevance and economic potential. Each prize is worth 2,000 euros and is donated by aws Kreativwirtschaft, a promotional programme funded by Austria Wirtschaftsservice GmbH.

Entry deadline to the National Design Prize 2022 is 15 February 2022.
